Dishwasher Maintenance

*Always run the water first from your faucet this allows the dishwasher to start with hot water.
* Always use settings of Sani or High Temp wash
*Put a cup of vinegar on the top rack while washing for sparkling glasses
*Use Lemi for clean glasses mix with dish washing detergent
*Need phosphate products for glasses to maintain their shine
* Finish products have phosphate it comes in many different forms (glass magic), (hard water),etc.
* To clean dishwasher run the dishwasher for 10 minutes then stop add a cup of vinegar to the bottom of dishwasher and finish the cycle.
*Scrape dishes don't put particles or bones in the dishwasher.

What Three Tips New Parents Should Know

What of my viewers replied to the newly parents by saying:

A pregnant couple was asking what my three top tips for new parents. I told them 1) layer sheets and rectangular waterproof pads/mats(the fitted ones won't let you layer as much)on the baby's mattress. I usually used three layers (sheet and pad) minimum. Very helpful in the middle of the night when baby gets wet or spits up, etc. Just strip one layer off and the bed is already made! 2) Buy more bottles than you think you need. That way you aren't washing bottles/nipples constantly. 3)Keep an extra diaper bag in each car trunk. Extra basic clothes for the baby AND parents need to be in there! Because if baby gets messy often a parent is also a mess as a result. Don't forget to update for the seasons. (Baggies of Cheerios also a good idea later on.)

I agree extra clothes for baby and good idea for mother. If not breasting feeding always pack more bottles and diapers when out and about. Don't ever put stuff animals in crib and back when my children were infants they were placed on their tummies. I know there are different views these days. 
Have a play mobile hanging from the car seat with a mirror it keeps them occupied as you are driving.

How to make furniture look distressed

One of Chat Me More's viewers asked how to distress furniture.
I am happy to oblige. I have at numerous times refinished furniture.

First you want to remove the whatever coating is on the table with a chemical or sand paper
Next rough up the surface with any hard object hammer, scrapper, etc.
Add a crackle glaze
Then add a clear top coat of your choice they come in matt, glossy, etc.

When purchasing the products explain to the sales person what you are trying to achieve and they will lead you to the right products.
