Apple Products

Apple Products and AppleCare

A warning when it comes to sending back an Apple product for servicing. Do make sure you go to the Genius Bar (found at any Apple store) first and have them note the problem with your product in your claim. I had a disturbing experience with Apple and I was a true follower of their products owning 21 of them. My son's iPad had a pixel problem showing a green line on the bottom and we brought it to the Genius Bar and they determined if was a defect. They would have traded out right there on the spot, but he would have lost the engraving. They suggested we contact AppleCare so that they could engrave the new iPad. When I called AppleCare they discouraged me from having it engraved, but I was determined being it was my son's Christmas gift. I sent it back and they claimed that they wouldn't fix it because it was dented. They returned it back to me dented (it was not sent to them dented and the Genuis confirmed that it wasn't) with the same pixel problem. I brought it back to the Genuis Bar and they switched out for me. When I wrote to Tim Cook, the C.E.O. of Apple, I received a phone call from Matt Kenny, who wanted to remedy the problem by giving me credit for $75.00 only to be used in the Apple Store on line, not a credit to use in future purchases. I would also like to add my son did not get his iPad engraved.
I did not accept the $75.00 and how dare him think that all the grief and time was only worth $75.00 and for Apple to choose how we spend it!

How to Keep Rodents Out of Your Car

Chat Me More had their own experience with the destruction that these critters can cause, several thousands of dollars worth. It seems that many car companies use recycled material for the wires of the car and these materials are soy based, which rats apparently love. After, many Google searches and Chat Me More's own research it seems that moth balls, Irish Spring Soap and light deters these pest from your car.
  1. Get a container with a top 16 inches long and about 5 inches deep
  2. Fill the container with moths balls or flakes just enough to cover the bottom of the container
  3. Place the soap in the container
  4. Stick the container in the middle of the car between the two front wheels
  5. Get light sensors (can be purchased at Amazon for $19.99 it comes with 3)
Place this under the car at dusk remove in the morning and place the top on the container and store it until the evening. Do make sure you keep the container closed when storing the smell is very strong and probably not safe to smell.

The light sensors only go on at night with movement, which is a perfect match for this purpose.
The senors are called Mr. Beam. The website www.mrbeams.com

What to do when you get water in your ears

Chat Me More had a first hand  experience with this problem. It started after a swim and it lasted until the next morning.
Many remedies were tried, but the only one that really worked was heating up a wash cloth for a minute in the microwave and placing on the ear. This took several times for the water to unclog the ear.

You will get another month out of your mascara.
