Apple Products and AppleCare
A warning when it comes to sending back an Apple product for servicing. Do make sure you go to the Genius Bar (found at any Apple store) first and have them note the problem with your product in your claim. I had a disturbing experience with Apple and I was a true follower of their products owning 21 of them. My son's iPad had a pixel problem showing a green line on the bottom and we brought it to the Genius Bar and they determined if was a defect. They would have traded out right there on the spot, but he would have lost the engraving. They suggested we contact AppleCare so that they could engrave the new iPad. When I called AppleCare they discouraged me from having it engraved, but I was determined being it was my son's Christmas gift. I sent it back and they claimed that they wouldn't fix it because it was dented. They returned it back to me dented (it was not sent to them dented and the Genuis confirmed that it wasn't) with the same pixel problem. I brought it back to the Genuis Bar and they switched out for me. When I wrote to Tim Cook, the C.E.O. of Apple, I received a phone call from Matt Kenny, who wanted to remedy the problem by giving me credit for $75.00 only to be used in the Apple Store on line, not a credit to use in future purchases. I would also like to add my son did not get his iPad engraved.
I did not accept the $75.00 and how dare him think that all the grief and time was only worth $75.00 and for Apple to choose how we spend it!
